Welcome & Belonging
“When our family moved to Burlington, OZ welcomed us with open arms and quickly became our Jewish home. We are supporting L’Dor V’Dor so that every family who walks through these doors can experience that same sense of belonging.”
– Allie and Michael Schachter
Stewardship & Legacy
"Ohavi Zedek has been our religious, spiritual, cultural and social home base for more than fifty years. By including OZ in our estate plans, we are helping insure a strong and vibrant Jewish community for generations to come."
– Harvey and Debbe Klein
Investing in the Next Generation
“At OZ, we’ve watched our two children grow into confident young adults, surrounded by friendship, purpose, and Jewish community. We’re supporting L’Dor V’Dor so the next generation can experience that same sense of belonging and build a lifelong connection to Jewish life.”
– Laura and Jason Cooper
Our History
Our Shared Vision
Our Challenges
It has been almost 140 years—roughly six generations—since our founders established Ohavi Zedek, “Lovers of Justice,” in 1885. Fleeing persecution, they brought their Eastern European shtetl culture and traditions to Burlington.

Our Challenges
Our 75-year-old building—with its confusing entry, inadequate preschool space, and substandard classrooms for Jewish Journeys Hebrew School—no longer supports the vibrant services and programs we aim to offer.

Our Shared Vision
Our home is filled with history, potential, and community. We don’t need to relocate: we need to transform our beloved building to honor its legacy and meet the vibrant, changing needs of our community.

Our Shared Vision
We draw strength from the deep roots of our past and the bright promise of our future. A beautifully restored building will be a place of pride, purpose, and connection—a home where traditions flourish and new memories are made.
